FAQ

Why Tazzini™?

Tazzini bottles feature a unique Comfort-Spout so you don't have to drink from a metal bottle. Our design is patented and won Best Product of the Year at the Moms in Business conference. The cap does not touch your water or beverage until you drink from it, minimizing contact with plastic at all times. The cap is made from #5 polypropylene, a safe, non-leaching, BPA-free material that is also 100% recyclable. Our bottles and spouts are independently lab-tested to meet or exceed US FDA and European Food Norm standards. The slim, tapered design and durable ring on the cap mean they are super easy to transport. They fit in most car cup holders, backpack pockets and most bike bottle holders. The Lil' Taz easily fits in lunch boxes/bags.

Why stainless?

Our bottles are approximately the same weight as similarly sized plastic and aluminum bottles, but far better for you and the environment. Studies have linked aluminum bottles to Alzheimer's and require a liner. Plastic and aluminum bottles usually have BPA, phthalates, lead and other toxins that can easily leach into your beverage and/or the environment upon their disposal. Stainless is time-tested, safe and completely free of BPA, phthalates, lead and other toxins and works with acidic beverages and foods. It gets even better, because stainless steel does not retain or impart flavors, which is why it is the most commonly-used material for food preparation and by the brewing and wine-making industries.

Stainless steel is an iron-containing alloy made from some of the basic elements found on earth: iron ore, chromium, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen and manganese. The properties of the final metal change depending on varying amounts of these elements. More than 57 stainless steels exist and are sold as standard alloys on the market. Our bottles are constructed from high-quality, 18/8, food-grade stainless steel and have been independently lab tested to ensure they are free from harmful toxins such as BPA and phthalates. The numbers stand for the percentages of chromium and nickel in the steel, 18% and 8% respectively. Chromium increases the metal's hardness and nickel gives it strength. Together they also make stainless steel highly resistant to stain or rust. Stainless steel is easy to clean, durable, inert and sanitary. That's why it's the material of choice among the food processing, dairy and brewing industries. For this reason, it is not necessary for our bottles to have a liner.

What sizes are available?

Currently we offer the "Metro Taz", which is a 730 ml (24.7 oz) bottle with two designs. The "Lil Taz"  is a youth-sized version that will easily fit in little hands and lunch boxes. We will also have more designs to choose from. Later in 2011, we are launching new product categories, all designed for health and convenience on the go. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to stay up-to-date. Both sized bottles are just 2.8" in diameter, so they easily fit in most car cupholders, backpack pockets and bike water cages.

How do I clean and maintain my bottle?

Tazzini™ bottles, but not lids, can be put in the dishwasher. However, to maintain the outer design, we highly recommend hand-washing. Whichever way you choose, the bottle should be thoroughly dried afterwards, and stored with the cap off the bottle. The spout can be removed from the cap. Turn counter-clockwise firmly (past the "click" sound) until it lifts off the cap. To replace, turn clockwise (past the "click" sound) until it is in the closed position and the protective dome-shaped cap can be closed. The cap should be hand-washed. We recommend washing your bottle and cap after each use.

What can I put in my Tazzini™ bottle?

Water. Juice, such as acidic beverages like orange or apple juice are fine. Wine and spirits are, too. You can put carbonated beverages in your bottle, but then don't fill it more than 3/4 full, and try to keep the bottle upright. Also, use care when opening the spout or lid if you do have something carbonated in it. Tazzini™ bottles should not be used with hot beverages as they are not insulated and drinking hot beverages from the spout may lead to scalding. Tazzini™ bottles should never be put in the freezer.

What is the warranty?

We offer a 1 year manufacturer's defects. If you need a replacement cap (the dome shaped part that covers the spout), please send us your mailing address and we will replace it free of charge. If you have questions or comments, please email them to info@tazzini.com.
