Taste of Tazzini
What is in our Tazzini bottles?
We get asked this question a lot! What can you put in a Tazzini besides water?
We carry something to drink with us pretty much everywhere we go, and between work and school-aged twins, we're on the go a lot! But, we're over boring ol' tap water, so we dress ours up a little with fresh fruits, herbs and spices! We keep a lead-free glass pitcher in our fridge all the time, and we change up what's in it depending on what is in season or what we're in the mood for. To make these "recipes", fill a pitcher with water, add the ingredients, and steep together in the refrigerator for a few hours (overnight is best). Some of our favorites include:
- Vanilla - Mint: 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract or a vanilla bean pod and a handful of fresh mint.
- Strawberry - Orange: Slice a handful of strawberries and an orange or tangerine. Also good with handful of fresh mint.
- Cinnamon - Orange: Slice an orange and add a stick of cinnamon.
- Cinnamint: Handful of fresh mint and a stick of cinnamon.
- Lemongrass Pear: Slices of ripe (but not too ripe) pear and a stalk of lemongrass.
- Berry-licious: Fresh seasonal berries. Our favorites are blackberries and blueberries.
- Melon-berry: Fresh seasonal berries and a few slices of honeydew or cantaloupe.
- Basil-lemon: Fresh basil leaves and lemon slices.
You can also make flavored ice cubes to keep the drink in your Tazzini cold longer.
What else?
We've been known to carry wine, beer and SodaStream "bubble water" and occasionally sodas in our Tazzinis! If you do carry something carbonated in your Tazzini, don't fill it too full (about 3/4 is best) and keep the bottle upright. And, make sure you wash them thoroughly right after use.
